Monument Valley Utah - Arizona

If you have ever watched any Western movie, you may have likely already seen the infamous area of Monument Valley. Towering rock formations rising up to 1,000 feet tall, make this desert scene a favorite among tourists. Monument Valley is located along the Utah/Arizona border on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

The best way to see Monument Valley is through a guided tour or scenic flight since most of the area is closed to private parties, driving and hiking among the monuments. Many tour operators in the area provide educational excursions into the areas which are not open to the general public.
