Dead Horse Point State Park offers the Four Corners area of Utah's most majestic viewpoint. The viewpoint of Dead Horse State Park overlooks the winding Colorado River down below, with red canyon country scenery and a backdrop of Canyonlands National Park. Dead Horse is 31 miles from Moab, Utah.
The historical legend of Dead Horse Point reveals use of this mesa by cowboys corralling wild horses on this natural corral. The cowboys then kept the horses they wanted and left the others behind. Supposedly, at one time, the horses left behind were still corralled and died of thirst. |
